چکیده

Motivated by the fact that QCD critical point (CP) belongs to the same universality class as the liquid-gas transition, the dynamical density fluctuations around the CP is analyzed using relativistic fluid dynamics for a viscous fluid. It is shown that relativistic effects on the dynamical structure factor of the density fluctuation appears only in the width of the sound and thermal modes through a modification of the transport/kinetic coefficients. It is found that the mechanical density fluctuation which is enhanced by the relativistic effects are attenuated, whereas the entropy fluctuation in turn becomes more prominent around the QCD CP. This attenuation of the density fluctuation around the QCD CP may imply that if the suppression or even total disappearance of Mach cone is observed as the incident energy of the relativistic heavy-ion collisions is lowered, it can be a signal of the existence of the QCD critical point.

The purpose of this paper is twofold. Firstly, we study the dynamical density fluctuations around the critical point(CP) of Quantum Chromodynamics(QCD) using dissipative relativistic fluid dynamics in which the coupling of the density fluctuations to those of other conserved quantities is taken into account. We show that the sound mode which is directly coupled to the mechanical density fluctua...

Critical Opalescence around the QCD Critical Point and Second-order Relativistic Hydrodynamic Equations Compatible with Boltzmann Equation

The dynamical density fluctuations around the QCD critical point (CP) are analyzed using relativistic dissipative fluid dynamics, and we show that the sound mode around the QCD CP is strongly attenuated whereas the thermal fluctuation stands out there. We speculate that if possible suppression or disappearance of a Mach cone, which seems to be created by the partonic jets at RHIC, is observed a...

Monodromy problem for the degenerate critical points

For the polynomial planar vector fields with a hyperbolic or nilpotent critical point at the origin, the monodromy problem has been solved, but for the strongly degenerate critical points this problem is still open. When the critical point is monodromic, the stability problem or the center- focus problem is an open problem too. In this paper we will consider the polynomial planar vector fields ...

Critical Opalescence: An Optical Signature for a QCD Critical Point

Four possible scenarios are considered for a transition from a quark-gluon matter to hadronic matter, and their corresponding correlation signatures are discussed. Four criteria are highlighted for a definitive experimental search for a QCD critical point. An old-new experimental measure, the optical opacity (or its inverse the nuclear attenuation length) is determined, in terms of a combinatio...
